The Umatilla Babe Ruth 16U All-Star team is making history this week as they head to Sarasota for the state championship. This marks the first time a team from Umatilla Babe Ruth in their age division has advanced to the state championship!

Their journey to this milestone began back in June when they competed in the district championship. The team demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, finishing with a 3-1 record to claim the district title. Their victory was particularly significant as they faced and triumphed over their biggest rivals in the district. They are headed to Sarasota with two things on their mind “Win & Have Fun”.

The success of the Umatilla 16U All-Stars can be attributed to the dedicated efforts of the players and their coaching staff. Head Coach Brent Harden, along with Assistant Coaches Adam Brinkley, Matt Donohue, Jeff Kinney, and Jason Sayre, has been instrumental in guiding the team to this achievement. The coaches have invested countless hours into practice and conditioning, ensuring the players are prepared both physically and mentally for the challenges ahead.

Coach Brent Harden expressed his pride in the team’s accomplishments, saying, “This is a great group of young men with so much heart and dedication. It is such a blessing to watch them grow and play together as a team.”

As the Umatilla 16U All-Stars gear up for the state championship, they carry with them the hopes and support of Lake County. The team has truly earned their place in the state championship, and they are ready to make their mark in Sarasota. Good luck Umatilla!
