Leesburg, FL — United Way of Lake & Sumter Counties (UWLS) invites the community to join them in celebrating the spirit of Thanksgiving by giving back to those in need. On Saturday, November 16, UWLS, in partnership with Farmshare, will distribute Thanksgiving meal kits to families at Lake Square Mall in Leesburg.

The meal kits will include pantry staples, fresh produce, and protein, helping ensure families — particularly those part of the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) community — can enjoy a warm holiday meal together.

Event Details:

  • Date: November 16, 2024
  • Time: Distribution begins at 10:00 AM and will continue until all kits are given away. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 7:00 AM.
  • Location: Lake Square Mall, 10401 US-441, Leesburg, FL 34788

“Our goal is to serve 300 families this year, and we’re grateful for the community’s support in making this possible,” said Jessica David, President and CEO of UWLS. “Together, we can help our neighbors enjoy a special Thanksgiving at home with their families.”

Community members are encouraged to contribute to the “United We Give” campaign. Donations will help fund essential items, such as turkeys and other protein options, for families in need. Contributions can be made online at uwls.org/donate/.
