Villages Parrot Heads Raise $45,000 for Alzheimer’s at Annual Memorial Golf Tournament

The Villages Parrot Heads Club presented a $45,000 check to the Alzheimer’s Association on Sunday following its 3rd annual “Rob Ainsley” Memorial Golf Tournament, continuing a tradition of honoring late members while raising critical funds for Alzheimer’s research and support services.
The tournament, named after former club vice president Rob Ainsley, who died several years ago, has become one of the group’s signature fundraising events. This year’s tournament also included a pinwheel garden of hope in memory of Terry Wallace, a dedicated club member credited with helping elevate the event’s success before his passing last year.

“Rob and Terry are surely looking down on us with pride,” says club president Mark “the Shark” Woodland. “They were the heart behind this tournament, and their legacy continues through the work we do to fight Alzheimer’s.”
The $45,000 donation brings the club’s three-year fundraising total for the Alzheimer’s Association to more than $163,000.
Dozens of club officers, trustees, committee members, and volunteers were recognized for their role in making the tournament a success. Among them were Ainsley’s widow, Terri Ainsley, and Wallace’s wife, Mary Wallace, both of whom attended the presentation.
Woodland said the event is about more than just golf, it’s about honoring loved ones, supporting families affected by Alzheimer’s, and keeping hope alive.
This tournament has grown over the years and it goes towards a great cause. We are very proud of The Villages Parrot Heads Club.
