The most dominant season in The Villages High School athletic history officially received its crowning moment.

Johnathan Clohecy, a senior wrestler at VHS, was presented with his state championship ring during a ceremony held earlier today in Middleton. The celebration marked the final chapter in a historic run for Clohecy, who captured the FHSAA state title at 175 pounds on March 8 in Kissimmee.

Clohecy concluded the 2024-25 season with a flawless 56-0 record, becoming the first wrestler in school history to finish a season undefeated. All 56 of his victories came with bonus points. His season totals included 38 pins, 11 technical falls, three major decisions, and four wins by forfeit.

He is the seventh individual state champion in Villages High School history, and only the third to emerge from the school’s growing wrestling program.

Clohecy will continue his wrestling career at Indian Hills Community College in Iowa this fall.
