Villages Torin Foley Emerges As One of Lake & Sumter County’s Best High School Baseball Players
Torin Foley is off to a huge start to the 2024 high school baseball season. #7 has been a ton of fun to watch. He is one of the best all-around players in Lake & Sumter County, and scouts should certainly have their eye on this kid.
Foley currently has a .333 average through 10 games played this season. He leads the team with 10 runs scored. Foley also has 9 hits, 8 RBIs, 1 double, 2 triples, and a home run. He also leads the team in steals with 7 stolen bases so far in 2024.
Torin Foley is lean and athletic. At 5’11” and 175 lbs, this kid is fast. He has certainly been one of the standout athletes at The Villages Charter School this season. Foley is ranked as the #5 player in all of Class 4A District 5 in runs scored this season. He is also ranked 4th in his class for total steals.
Foley is just a junior, and he has the entire summer for travel ball to continue to hone his skills. But this is one particular player who has really impressed us this year and is one to look out for. He has a high baseball IQ, is a versatile player who plays infield, 3rd base, outfield, and even catcher. He is a multi-talented player and one of the best all-around junior baseball players in Lake & Sumter County.
While there is plenty of work to do, this is one player we certainly have our eye on as the season continues. We look forward to seeing how Foley continues to develop as a player as the year moves along.
Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
