Wawa Celebrates Grand Opening of Wildwood Location

Wawa opened the doors to its newest store Thursday morning with fanfare, freebies, and a dash of friendly competition. Located at the corner of County Road 466A and Powell Road, the new Wildwood location joins a bustling retail area near Pinellas Plaza, Target, Publix and Lowe’s.

The grand opening event drew a crowd of locals eager to welcome the convenience store and fuel station to town. The first 250 customers received free t-shirts and a complimentary coffee of any size to mark the occasion. The Wildwood Middle High School cheerleaders and band were also in attendance.
Wildwood Mayor Ed Wolf spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, thanking the community, construction crews, and Wawa employees for their dedication in bringing the project to life. He also highlighted a morning hoagie-making contest that raised funds for charity and featured local teams.

“Way to go Wildwood Police Department and congratulations on winning the competition trophy through your teamwork, hustle and attention to detail,” says Mayor Wolf, applauding the department’s spirited victory.
The new store adds to this growing area of Wildwood. This upcoming Sunday, Target will host their grand opening right across the street. A new senior living facility and other businesses are also slated for openings in the near future.
