WILDWOOD, Fla. — The Florida Gators are keeping it all in the family. Safety Vincent Brown Jr. has officially committed to the program, continuing a proud family tradition that has seen seven members of the Brown family don the orange and blue. Brown Jr. announced his decision via his personal social media accounts, confirming his role as a preferred walk-on for the upcoming season.

The former Wildwood High School standout is set to reunite with his cousin, incoming freshman wide receiver Vernell Brown III. Both players are enrolling at the University of Florida this month, marking the latest chapter in the family legacy that spans generations. The two previously shared the field at Wildwood together before Brown III moved on to Jones in Orlando. Vincent Brown Jr. played for many years with Wildwood dating all the way back to 2018 when he was playing varsity as a middle school student.

Brown Jr.’s father, Vincent Brown Sr., is no stranger to Gator lore. A former running back, Brown Sr. played under Urban Meyer and was a key member of the 2008 National Championship team. In addition to his collegiate success, Brown Sr. served as a high school coach for his son and continues to serve as the school’s girls basketball coach and girls flag football coach.

“It’s an honor to be part of this legacy, Grateful & Thankful! All God.” said Vincent Brown Jr. in a social media post. Brown Jr. spent the last year with the Southeastern University Fire in Lakeland where he had a big year.

We are very excited for Vincent Brown Jr. and we are looking forward to seeing him and Vernell Brown III share the same field once more in 2025! Way to go!
