Wildwood RB Tyrese Keiler Showcases Star Potential with Explosive Performances
WILDWOOD, Fla. (AP) — Despite Wildwood Middle High School’s 0-2 start this season, running back Tyrese Keiler continues to impress with his stellar individual performances. Keiler, a senior, has been a bright spot for the Wildcats, rushing for 113 yards and scoring two touchdowns across the team’s first two games. Paired with his brother, Taylor Keiler, who plays quarterback, the duo has provided a glimpse of hope for a program looking to turn things around.
Last season, Tyrese played in eight games. He averaged 9.7 yards per carry. He finished the 2023 season with 369 rushing yards and six touchdowns. It was a breakout year for Keiler last year. While the first two games of the season proved difficult, Wildwood is coming into winnable stretch of games in the coming weeks.
Wildwood Middle High football is now under the leadership of head coach Lorenzo Fields, a former standout player who led Wildwood to state runner-up finishes in the 1980s and enjoyed a successful college career. He has been given the task of rebuilding the Widcats football team after a challenging 2023 season. Fields is relying on young talents like the Keiler’s to improve the teams performance.
Tyrese is a special player, he’s got great vision, explosive speed, and the ability to change the game in a moment. We saw his explosive speed during The Villages and Leesburg matchups and regarless of the outcome, he is a fantastic athlete.
Wildwood will look to notch its first win of the season in their upcoming matchup against at Citrus tomorrow night at 7pm.
