40 Over 40: Dr. Shireen Dhanani of My Dental Touch

For Dr. Shireen Dhanani, dentistry has never been just about teeth. Over the course of a 27-year career, she has built an integrated model of care that connects oral health, medical aesthetics and total wellness under one philosophy and one roof.

Through My Dental Touch and My Wellness Studio in Leesburg, Dr. Dhanani believes health begins with function and extends into confidence, vitality and the way a person chooses to age.

What patients appreciate most is the way she listens. Before a treatment plan is ever discussed, Dr. Dhanani takes the time to sit down, ask questions and genuinely understand what a patient is experiencing. She believes those conversations often reveal the root cause behind the concern that brought them into her office.

“When you help someone get out of pain or restore their ability to function comfortably, you change how they interact with the world,” she says. “That realization led me toward wellness and aesthetics. If I can help someone function better and feel better, it becomes about improving quality of life.”

That philosophy is reflected throughout her practice. On the dental side, Dr. Dhanani is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and a Platinum Invisalign Provider, offering everything from same-day milled restorations to full smile makeovers. On the wellness side, she serves as a Key Opinion Leader for BTL Aesthetics and has pioneered the use of Emvital and Emface for TMJ pain relief and facial rejuvenation, technologies she introduced to Lake County while continuing to research their clinical applications.

Her passion for longevity is woven into everything she does. Whether she is addressing sleep-disordered breathing, jaw function, joint pain or skin health, Dr. Dhanani approaches each patient as a whole person, guiding them not only toward a healthier smile but toward a longer, more vibrant life.

At a time when healthcare can often feel transactional, Dr. Dhanani has built a practice where patients come not only for treatment, but because they trust the team caring for them. Many have remained with the practice for more than 20 years. She believes that kind of trust is earned through presence, compassion, honesty and a genuine commitment to listening.

Her advice to the next generation is to lead with curiosity, never stop learning and always remember that meaningful care begins by listening.

“The future of healthcare belongs to providers who listen deeply, treat the whole person and are willing to evolve,” she says. “Build relationships first.”
