Occupation: Property owner and manager for Someplace Special Vacation Rentals in Mount Dora and director of business development for The Floor Shoppe

What I do: I create effective marketing strategies, revenue management, marketing and distribution. I also manage property listings and bookings.

A family affair:  My father-in-law, Alan Stewart, brought me on board at The Floor Shoppe in 2018. I started Someplace Special Vacation Rentals in Mount Dora and, along with my husband, purchased a few properties of our own in the downtown area. I now manage a total of 11 properties.

Two passions: Working for a family-owned business makes things a bit more personal and is something I don’t take for granted. As for the property management side, I love that I can have long lasting relationships with people from all over the country. I love to host in my personal life and this business allows me to still do this, but in a unique way.

Notable achievement: Being involved in Leadership Lake County Class of 2019

Words of wisdom: Seek a mentor. Once you find your niche, stay there. Work harder than you think you’re capable of. Understand that there is always room to grow. Cultivate your talent and exercise your passion as much as possible.

Outside the store: I love to host friends and family at my home and create fun events with my twin sister. I also love boating, traveling and spending time with my husband, daughter and son.

Life after 40: I would like to purchase more properties and expand our collection of homes. I also want to spend more time traveling with my family and to make lasting memories.
