Mount Dora Epic Theatre Hosts National 40th Anniversary Screening of “The NeverEnding Story” This Weekend Only
This weekend, the Mount Dora Epic Theatre will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the beloved 1984 fantasy film “The NeverEnding Story.” Warner Bros. and Fathom Events have announced a limited theatrical rerelease of this classic movie, giving fans old and new the opportunity to experience the magic on the big screen once again.
About the Film
“The NeverEnding Story” follows the adventures of Bastian Balthazar Bux, a young boy who escapes his troubled reality by immersing himself in books. One day, he discovers a magical book that transports him to the fantastical land of Fantasia, which is under threat from a sinister force known as The Nothing. As Bastian reads, he learns that he holds the power to save Fantasia. Along his journey, he encounters a host of memorable characters, including the brave warrior Atreyu, the ancient turtle Morla, and the ethereal Childlike Empress.
Rerelease Dates
In honor of its 40th anniversary, “The NeverEnding Story” will be shown in theaters nationwide on Sunday, July 21, and Monday, July 22. Each screening will feature an exclusive introduction by renowned film critic Leonard Maltin, who will share unique insights and behind-the-scenes stories about this timeless classic.
