Groveland’s Brand New Hope Preparatory Academy Campus Opens To Rave Reviews

Groveland’s newest educational institution, Hope Preparatory Academy, celebrated its grand opening of their new campus with a wildly successful Trojan Meet the Teacher Night last evening. The event marked the beginning of an exciting chapter for the 2024-2025 school year, as the faculty and staff eagerly welcomed both new and returning students to the academy.

(HPA is such a gift to this community. So much work went into this campus. Congratulations Dr. Tony McCoy, his wife Jodie McCoy who Co-Founded HPA. Also a shoutout to all the faculty and construction teams who made this a reality.)

This program bring Hope Preparatory Academy to the next level. Modern classrooms and equipment were on full display. The classrooms are incredible. This is not your grandfather or grandmothers school. Everything is built and designed for students in this modern day and age to take advantage of while also providing a platform for these students to learn and accept Christ into their lives.

(The classrooms are modern and students will have a great time learning in kind of space.)

There was so much joy in the air as students and their families explored the new campus, met their teachers, and got a first look at their new classrooms. Everwhere you looked, people’s eyes lit up with excitement.

Hope Preparatory Academy, known for its commitment to fostering academic excellence, made sure every Trojan was well-prepared for the upcoming year. The gym in particular was one of the new center pieces. They interior of the gym looks amazing with LED lighting and a nice video board. It also has a stage at one end so it can double as a comencement hall and theatre. While the gym looks bare on the walls, that will soon change as I can imagine championship banners soon hanging throughout the gym in the near future.

The bare walls of the gym are almost like a symbol. It offers a blank slate of potential for this school. I think this program has real potential to become a powerhouse in basketball and many other sports in the coming years.

(The gym is a center piece of the new school. Note the video board in the opper corner. The gym also has a stage at one end for plays and other events.)

Principal Tawanda Odom expressed her gratitude to the families who attended, saying, “It’s wonderful to see so many families eager to start the year off on the right foot. We’re thrilled to be a part of this community and are committed to providing an environment where our students can truly thrive.”

(Families got a look at the new classrooms. The school is K-12 so there are a variety of different classrooms for different age groups.)

With the school’s mission to “Educate, Elevate, and Empower” its students, Hope Preparatory Academy is still accepting enrollments for grades K-12. Parents looking for a place where their children will learn to be dynamic leaders for Christ are welcomed to apply to HPA as their learning institution of choice.

There is a shared sense of optimism and readiness for the school year ahead. The Trojan spirit was alive and well. Hope Preparatory Academy was already established but to have a beautiful campus to call home is truly a blessing.

(Everyone was very excited and happy about the new HPA campus. It will be a fantastic place to learn and worship God.)

I am excited for what the future holds with this program. The basketball team already was impressive last year and had some real talent to build upon in the coming years. Congratulations to everyone involved in this project. Go Trojans!
