Lake Minneola High Girls Volleyball Team Off To Best Start In School History at 10-0
LAKE MINNEOLA, Fla. — Lake Minneola High School’s girls volleyball team is off to its best start in modern history, beginning the season with a perfect 10-0 record and dominating opponents along the way. The Hawks have secured back-to-back 3-0 sweeps over Eustis and Windermere Prep and beat East Ridge High last night. They are showing why they are one of the top teams in the FHSAA Class 6A. The lady Hawks are currently ranked #7 in 6A and 43rd in the state of Florida.
Senior standout Camila Antosanti-Soto has been a force, leading the team with 75 kill shots and adding 11 aces to her tally. She’s been complemented by junior Bailey O’Dell, who has also been dominant with 68 kill shots this season. Together, the duo has formed a potent offensive attack that has been difficult for opponents to contain.
Lake Minneola’s success isn’t just due to its offensive firepower. Senior setter Brooke Larson has been the backbone of the team’s attack, dishing out 246 assists thus far, keeping the Hawks’ offense running smoothly. Larson is among the best setters in Central Florida.
On the defensive side, senior Alissa Grant, standing tall at 6’1″, has been a wall at the net. Grant leads Class 6A in blocks, tallying 24 so far this season, making it nearly impossible for teams to find a way around her. Fellow senior Nia Whitehead has contributed another 15 blocks, adding to the Hawks’ defensive dominance. These two players have contributed much to the Lady Hawks and they have only gotten better as the season has progressed.
With a combination of offensive firepower, a deep roster, and a strong defensive presence, Lake Minneola is looking like one of the top contenders this season. This team is truly special and certainly one of the best teams ever put together at Lake Minneola High. Go Hawks!
