Leesburg Police Department Offering Starting Salary of $62,456

LEESBURG, FL — The Leesburg Police Department is offering a competitive starting salary of $62,456 for new officers, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Officers employed by the department are eligible for a range of benefits, including a Paid Time Off (PTO) Buyback program, 10 paid holidays plus one floating holiday, and funeral leave. Additionally, the department offers tax-exempt flexible spending accounts, retirement and pension programs, and access to a take-home vehicle. Officers can also work out while on duty.

For those with prior law enforcement experience, there is an opportunity to receive a pay increase above the base salary, depending on qualifications. Educational incentives are also available, with a two-year degree adding $360 to an officer’s pay and a four-year degree offering a $960 bonus.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.

Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
