Around 300 motorcycle enthusiasts from all over Florida filled the newly minted parking lot at Lucky U Cycles in Wildwood on Saturday to support owner Jeremy Coon and witness a much-anticipated ribbon cutting.

After Pastor Terry Mahan gave the invocation, Jeremy recalled how he came up with the plan for the shop, which was a dream and a vision for many years.

“I’ve seen a lot of motorcycle shops,” he says, “and when I built this one, I made sure to incorporate all the things I’ve loved with all of you in mind.”

The vision has come to life as the entire property spans 15,000 square feet, 8000 of which is a shiny showroom floor which showcases 200+ bikes, multiple offices and service bays with modern, first-rate lifts. There is also a comfortable lounge, which will give customers lots of room to relax while watching TV. The vintage motorcycles and old-timey gas pumps give a Route 66 vibe.

Jeremy also had many people to thank, including his family and friends, loyal employees & customers, the motorcycle community, the City of Wildwood, Hanna Construction, TCL, PSL Construction and his girlfriend Kim.

He had one final thank-you, which had him choked up as he read the last of his speech.

“Lastly, there’s one man who’s looking down on us today, and that’s Redmond Ryan,” he says. “He’s the one who convinced me to open this shop. Redmond was more than just a mentor—he was my best friend and a father figure. I hope this shop is everything you ever envisioned, Redmond.”

After the speeches, the guests were invited to explore the entire indoor/outdoor space while enjoying BBQ, cigars from Holy Sh’mokes, Tallarico’s Pizza, music, corn hole, putt-putt and a raffle, a social scene that Jeremy had in mind when he designed the space.

“I feel like our new place will be a destination for people to ride to so we want to have bigger and better events like bike shows, car shows, live music, food trucks, and even fund-raisers,” Jeremy says.

The official grand-opening festivities will be held the weekend of November 1-3.
