Heritage Community Church Steps Up to Help Town Recover After Hurricane Milton
In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, which left a path of destruction across Florida, Heritage Community Church has played a pivotal role in relief efforts, offering aid and support to affected residents. From clearing debris to providing essential supplies, church members have been on the frontlines of recovery, embodying the spirit of community and service.
Sidney Brock, a local resident and lead pastor at Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park, expressed deep gratitude for the church’s efforts. “I will not be able to communicate the depth of our appreciation,” said Brock. “But we have some pretty amazing people at Heritage Community Church that recognize the importance of loving and caring for one another. To each person who has welded a chainsaw, helped board up houses, picked up limbs, raked debris, used heavy equipment, gave out waters, fuel, tarps or just stopped to pray and encourage one another, we are grateful.”
As the town grapples with the aftermath of the storm, Heritage Community Church has provided more than just physical assistance. Volunteers from the church have been out daily, clearing roads, helping families secure their homes, and offering spiritual and emotional support to those in need.
The church has also worked to distribute essential supplies such as water, fuel, tarps, and food. The sense of unity fostered by these efforts has brought hope to a town still reeling from the devastation.
“Heritage Community Church has always been there for our town, but their response to Hurricane Milton has been exceptional,” said one local resident. “They’ve helped us see that even in the worst of times, we can rely on each other to rebuild.”
Hurricane Milton left many homes damaged and families displaced, but thanks to the efforts of organizations like Heritage Community Church, the town is on the road to recovery. As cleanup efforts continue, the church’s impact is evident, and the community is coming together. It’s such a positive thing to see people helping people during times like this. Well done.
