The Lake County Sheriff’s Charities’ annual Shop With A Cop event took place this year at Walmart in Mount Dora, continuing its tradition of spreading holiday cheer to children and families in the community.

The event is a collaborative effort, with guidance counselors from Lake County Schools working alongside the Lake County Sheriff’s Charities, Inc., and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office to identify families in need through an application process. Local law enforcement officers, including those from surrounding agencies and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), joined volunteers to make the evening a memorable experience for the children.

At the conclusion of the event, participants were treated to exciting giveaways, including 25 bicycles, a Nintendo Switch, tickets to Busch Gardens, and tickets to the Orlando Science Center.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Charities expressed gratitude to the volunteers and surrounding local law enforcement agencies for their support in making the event a success.
