GROVELAND, Fla.— The South Lake High School girls weightlifting team showcased their strength and depth in a commanding performance against Lake Minneola High School, winning both the Traditional and Olympic Meets to improve their season record to 2-1.

The Eagles topped the Hawks 56-27 in the Traditional Meet and 57-25 in the Olympic Meet, continuing to assert their dominance early in the season.

Leila Palanza, Alex Watson, Marissa Weaver, and Misha Davies were the standouts for South Lake, taking first place in both the Traditional and Olympic lifts. Their consistency and power set the tone for a balanced team effort.

Chloe Stone, Lily Rey, and Mia Hernandez added to the Eagles’ points total, earning first-place finishes in the Traditional Meet. Meanwhile, Emily Hill and Emily Separk excelled in the Olympic lifting session, claiming first-place honors in their respective weight classes.

South Lake’s depth across multiple events proved to be the difference-maker against Lake Minneola, demonstrating why the Eagles remain a formidable force in the region. This team is looking really good early on and while there is still a long way to go in the season, South Lake High is looking like a favorite to do some damage this season especially once districts and regionals roll around.
