New Rooftop Bar “The Yardery” Set to Open Soon in Mount Dora
MOUNT DORA, Fla. — A new dining and entertainment hotspot is coming to downtown Mount Dora, as construction is in the finishing stages on The Yardery, a casual, open-air restaurant concept combining food, drinks, and games in a lively outdoor setting. Signage was put up on the building and an opening date will be announced soon pending final inspections. “We are counting down the days until we can welcome you to our outdoor oasis-where you can eat, drink and play in the yard!” they said in a recent social media post.

The 5,480-square-foot restaurant, which broke ground during the summer last year has been built on a quarter-acre lot at 221 N. Baker Street, adjacent to the municipal parking lot and downtown parking garage. The two-story venue features a 2,058-square-foot bar on the open-air second floor, while the ground level includes additional bar service, al fresco dining, and yard games such as cornhole, foosball, Connect Four, ladder toss, and Giant Jenga.

Designed in a modern farmhouse style, The Yardery aims to offer a laid-back atmosphere with its motto, “Eat, drink and play in the yard.” The menu will focus on “backyard food with a twist,” featuring signature dishes like the Yardery Burger, Cajun fish tacos, barbecue chicken flatbread, in-house smoked ribs, and honey hot fried chicken. Guests can also enjoy craft cocktails, beer, and wine.

This will be the second location for The Yardery, which debuted in Sanford after a two-year development period, officially opening on February 12, 2022. That location has been very successful.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
