‘Twas a Pleasure

The annual Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire, presented by the Marian D. Shuck Scholarship Trust, took place in Tavares in November. The event that benefitted the Education Foundation of Lake County transported visitors back in time with turkey legs, mead and dozens of performances inspired by days of yore. The faire was made possible through the support of sponsors including the City of Tavares, Style Magazine, Lake County Schools, Waste Management and Insight. Lords and ladies wandered the shire, browsing artisan wares such as sculptures, swords, candles, jewelry, pottery, leatherwork and kilts. Last year, the Education Foundation of Lake County impacted nearly 3,000 teachers and almost 60,000 students, with over $4 million invested in education through the faire over the years.
