40 Under 40: Zechariah Montera

Zechariah Montera
Age: 31
Career: Financial Planner at Fross and Fross Wealth Management, Private Wealth Manager, CFP® Professional
Fun fact: Before discovering my passion for finance, I spent time working as an EMT and then two years as a whitewater raft guide in Colorado.
My defining moment: My decision to attend Colorado Christian University was a defining moment for me as it opened the door to a hidden passion for business, investing, and accounting that I didn’t know existed. More importantly than that, I met my wife Victoria there, which led me to the best calling I have in my life, which is being a husband and father to our two young boys
Financial planning is about more than numbers for Zechariah Montera. It’s about people, purpose and trust. As a private wealth manager at Fross & Fross Wealth Management, he strives to make a meaningful impact on his clients and his community through integrity-driven financial guidance.
“The objective of my work for the next generation and community is to consistently lead the industry in financial services and practices that prioritize the clients’ interests above our own,” Zechariah says. “As a member of the leadership team at Fross and Fross Wealth Management, my goal is to develop a service that stays relevant over the decades to come, enabling us to continue making a positive impact on our clients’ families and our local community.”
Zechariah worked as an EMT and spent two years as a white-water raft guide in Colorado before discovering his passion for finance, but his decision to attend Colorado Christian University was life-changing.
“It opened the door to a hidden passion for business, investing, and accounting that I didn’t know existed,” he says. “More importantly, I met my wife, Victoria, which led me to the best calling I have on my life, being a husband and father to our two young boys.”
Zechariah says 2022 tested him deeply.
“The market was down, inflation was high, my stepfather passed away, we were building a home, and we almost lost our newborn son to meningitis,” he says. “The most significant lesson I learned from this time period was the importance of having trusted people in your life who can tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.”
He credits his family and clients as his greatest motivation.
“To us, our clients are like family and friends,” Zechariah says. “It’s an incredible honor to serve these remarkable individuals and to learn from their success, their relationships, and the lives they’ve built.”
