Mount Dora seized the fifth annual Lake County Dual Meet Wrestling Championship held at Tavares High on Wednesday. The Canes knocked off South Lake 54-15 and Tavares 54-24, with South Lake coming in second place.

Leesburg and First Academy-Leesburg chose not to participate in the dual meet.

This marks The Canes fourth title win under Coach David Kemmy’s leadership.

We battled hard and we were not to be denied,” Coach Kemmy says. “Some great efforts on the part of everyone, I was very proud of how they wrestled. Canes senior captain Kollen Staab led an incredible season.”
