Wildwood Senior Adejah Corbin Leadership Fuels Lady Wildcats Playoff Push

Wildwood Middle High School senior Adejah Corbin has been a driving force for the Wildcats’ girls basketball program, helping deliver an FHSAA Rural State Championship in 2025 before guiding the team through a strong 2025-26 season.
Adejah contributed to Wildwood’s perfect 25-0 run and title victory last year, where she was part of a balanced attack alongside teammates like Zoey Brown and Trinidy Harris. In the championship game at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Adejah helped Wildwood dominate early, scoring alongside Brown in the opening quarter as the Wildcats built momentum toward the crown.

This season, Adejah has remained a cornerstone for the Wildcats. She is averaging 13.7 points per game and is second on the team behind sophomore Zoey Brown. She has also provided a ton of defensive tenacity with her 216 steals in her career.
“I started playing basketball when I was 11 years old and I’ve been playing for several years now,” she says. “Over time, the game has become a big part of my life and who I am.”
Her family ignited that passion.
“My family played a huge role in getting me involved in basketball,” Adejah explains. “Their support and encouragement helped me fall in love with the game and stick with it.”

She credits role models including head coach Vincent Brown (Coach Brown), along with coaches Allen, Steve, and Powells, plus siblings Adyn, Amarion, and Alfred Corbin.
“They motivate me by leading through example and always believing in me.”
Her fondest high school memories center on team bonds.
“My favorite memory is sharing big moments with my teammates, whether it’s winning an important game or just the feeling of working hard together and seeing it pay off,” she says.
From Coach Brown, she has learned key life skills.
“Coach Brown has taught me the importance of discipline, confidence, and never giving up on myself, even when things get tough,” she shares.

Basketball has also helped mold her character.
“Basketball has helped shape me into a stronger, more focused person,” she says. “It’s taught me responsibility, teamwork, and how to handle both success and adversity.”
To young girls who look up to her, Adejah advises to “Always work hard, stay consistent, and don’t let setbacks stop you. Believe in yourself and trust the process.”
That process has helped Adejah become on of Wildwood’s top athletes. Shes played volleyball, basketball and has been a part of the girls flag football team which is one of the best in central Florida.
While Adejah has been one of Wildwood’s top girls athletes, she has battled self-doubt and pressure over the course of her career but one thing has been a constant in helping her with that. Basketball. “One of my biggest challenges has been pushing through self-doubt and pressure, but basketball taught me how to stay mentally strong and keep going.”
And it’s paid dividends. Adejah has led Wildwood back into the Regional Finals with a chance at getting back to the FHSAA Final Four once again.
When Adejah is not competing in athlete events, she volunteers to support younger athletes and her community. She enjoys family time, friends, and relaxation when not competing. However, flag football, volleyball and basketball remain her primary passion.
Playing at Wildwood feels like home. Playing for this program is an honor. They are part of my family, and the support from coaches, teammates, and the community means a lot to me.”
Her faith also provides strength, with Philippians 4:13 as a favorite verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It reminds her to stay resilient in every situation no matter the outcome.
Looking forward, Adejah plans to attend college, pursue a career as a physical therapist, and remain involved in basketball. “After high school, I plan to continue my education and pursue my goals as a physical therapist while staying involved in basketball,” she says. “I’m interested in college and exploring the different fields that will help me grow personally and professionally.”
