One of Lake Glass & Mirror’s most meaningful community initiatives is Pedal for Paws, an annual charity bike ride benefiting the Humane Society of Lake County.

Founded in memory of Bert’s sister, Nandi, the event brings together a love of nature, outdoor activity, and animal welfare.

“This event honors my sister’s memory while raising funds to support rescue animals,” Bert says. “It’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of pets and families.”

Held at the renowned Santos Trailhead in Ocala, the 16-mile ride welcomes cyclists of all skill levels. The $40 entry fee includes an event T-shirt, refreshments, and a post-ride gathering with food and drinks.

All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Lake County, with Lake Glass & Mirror matching up to $10,000 in donations.

“In 2024, Pedal for Paws raised nearly $5,000, and we’re aiming even higher this year,” says Angie Klein, executive director of the Humane Society of Lake County. “It’s a fun event that helps us continue our mission of finding forever homes for animals in need.”
