Lake County Fair Opens Tonight with Exciting New Attractions

The Lake County Fair springs back to life tonight as it opens its gates for the 103rd year. This year is filled with ten days of thrilling rides, entertainment, youth livestock competitions, fair food, and much more.

This year, the fair opens on Friday, April 5, the fair will run through Sunday, April 14. In previous years, it has opened on a Thursday, but by opening on Friday, this year will offer attendees two full weekends of excitement. Be sure to check out the full schedule for event and time changes.

A highlight of the fair is its lineup of entertainment. Returning favorites include the Agricabra ‘Magic of Agriculture’ show, Robinson’s Racing Pigs and the Brad Matchett Comedy Hypnotist show. New attractions include Scales, Tails, and Teeth alligator wrestling, Kids Can Cook With Dianne Linderman and Purgatory Iron Works featuring blacksmithing and woodworking performances.

Here is the new line up for livestock events:

  • Steer show: Tonight at 7 p.m.
  • Steer sale: Saturday, April 5 at 4 p.m.
  • Beef show: Monday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
  • Meat goat show: April 9 at 3 p.m.
  • Breeding goat show: April 9 at 3 p.m.
  • Meat goat sale: April 9 at 6 p.m.
  • Rabbit show: April 7 at 9 a.m.
  • Swine show: April 12 at 7 p.m.
  • Swine sale: Saturday, April 13 at 4 p.m.
