Mount Dora’s Gilbert Park Playground Renovation Making Progress

The demolition of the 2-5yr section is now complete, and we’re excited to announce that the 5-12yr old section of Gilbert Park’s playground (pirate ship) is now RE-OPENED!  Thank you for your patience and understanding during this phase of our playground upgrade.

The 2-5yr old section remains barricaded off during its transformation. The new design will feature activities for both 2-5 year-olds and 5-12 year-olds, along with several ADA features to make it a truly all-inclusive play space.

Stay tuned for updates as we continue to create a playground that everyone in our community can safely enjoy!

Located at the lakefront at the intersection of Tremain Street and Liberty Avenue, this recently renovated park contains the City of Mount Dora’s staple playground. This playground includes a pirate ship and several climbing features that engage the imagination and adventurous side of all that visit this amazing playground. Along with 2 pavilions, restrooms and a walking trail this park has something to offer for everyone. Also in Gilbert Park is Alexander Creek, a surprisingly special area for visiting, named after a former Mayor. Gilbert Park was named for its donor, Mr. Earl Gilbert.
