AdventHealth Opens New Tavares Medical Office to Expand Outpatient Care

AdventHealth is set to open its new Tavares Medical Plaza this week, marking a major step in expanding access to outpatient care as Lake County continues to grow.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house are scheduled for Thursday, April 16, at the new 50,000-square-foot facility located at 2200 Huffstetler Drive, across from AdventHealth Waterman. Hospital leaders, community members and care teams are expected to attend, with tours of the building planned following the ceremony.

Construction on the two-story medical office building began in February 2025 as part of a $30 million investment aimed at keeping pace with increasing demand for health care services in the region.

Once open, the facility will house imaging services, cardiac rehabilitation and an outpatient lab, along with space for future physician clinics. By offering routine care and testing outside of the hospital setting, the building is expected to ease pressure on existing facilities while improving convenience for patients.
Lake County’s population growth continues to drive higher patient volumes, with AdventHealth Waterman reporting approximately 168,000 visits last year. Leaders say the new plaza will help meet those needs while keeping care close to home.

“This new building will provide more space for our clinical teams, greater access to care for our patients, and a continued commitment to serving this community,” Biri says.
The Tavares Medical Plaza is expected to begin serving patients shortly after the grand opening.
