American Athletic Club, based out of Tavares Florida, is proud to announce Dr. Jenny D. Johnson as its new Head of Education and Training, marking a significant step forward in AAC’s commitment to Long-term athlete development, coach education, and raising the standard of volleyball training at every level.

Dr. Johnson brings an exceptional blend of academic leadership, applied coaching expertise, and national-level volleyball experience. Dr. Jenny D. Johnson is anAssociate Professor and Master’s Program Lead Instructor for Coaching and Athletic Development at American Public University system, where she has designed curricula for 12 graduate and undergraduate courses since 2011. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from National University, with research focused on elite beach volleyball athlete development, an M.S. in Sports Management with a specialization in Coaching Theory and Strategy, and an M.S. in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. Dr. Johnson served as Director of Education Services for USA Volleyball (2024-2026), has been involved with USA Volleyball as a National Faculty Member, MasterEvaluator and Head Coach for Beach National Development Training Teams since 2013.

In her role with American Athletic Club, Dr. Johnson will lead the development and Implementation of education based training systems for athletes and coaches, focusing on evidence based methodology, long term development models, and building a consistent standard across all levels of the club. AAC leadership views this appointment as a pivotal investment in the future of the organization and the athletes it serves.

With Dr. Johnson joining the AAC leadership team, the club reinforces its mission to develop not only high level volleyball players, but confident, educated, and prepared athletes who are equipped for success both on and off the court.
