BRAVE SC Matheus Ferreira Named USL League Two Southeast Player Of The Year
Matheus Ferreira has been named the USL League Two Southeast Division Player of the Year, capping a standout season with BRAVE SC who play in The Villages. The Brazilian midfielder started 13 of 14 games during the summer season, amassing 1,106 minutes on the pitch. Ferreira’s offensive contributions were crucial to BRAVE SC’s success, netting six goals and tallying two assists, along with scoring a key playoff goal.
Ferreira’s playmaking ability and consistent performances made him a fan favorite, with his dynamic style of play helping BRAVE SC remain competitive throughout the season. His versatility, ball control, and knack for finding the back of the net separated him from his peers. Ferreira moved to the USA during high school for an opportunity to continue playing soccer and earn a college degree.
Currently, Ferreira is back in his native Brazil, where he’s taken up Futevôlei, a popular beach volleyball variant that uses feet instead of hands. Despite his focus on a different sport during the offseason, his passion for soccer remains clear, and he continues to train at a high level. Futevolei is actually a growing popular sport in South America and has even caught on in the USA.
Ferreira’s impressive run in USL League Two with BRAVE SC was awesome to watch this season. Congratulations to Matheus and for the accomplishments of BRAVE SC this year.
