Building Blocks Ministries Joins USDA’s Food Program, Offers Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Building Blocks Ministries has announced its participation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Child and Adult Care Food Program. The program provides meals at no separate charge to eligible participants enrolled at the facility, located at 644 Gadson St. in Groveland. The meals will be available regardless of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, or other protected statuses.
Eligible participants can receive free or reduced-price meals by completing an application. The application must include details such as the names and number of household members, the last four digits of the Social Security Number of the household’s primary wage earner, total monthly household income, or relevant identification numbers for Food Stamps, SSI, or Medicaid. The form must be signed by an adult participant in the care center.
The Income Eligibility Guidelines for Free and Reduced-Price Meals, effective from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, are as follows:

- 1-person household: $0-$19,578 annually
- 2-person household: $0-$26,572 annually
- 3-person household: $0-$33,566 annually
- 4-person household: $0-$40,560 annually
- 5-person household: $0-$47,554 annually
- 6-person household: $0-$54,548 annually
- 7-person household: $0-$61,542 annually
- 8-person household: $0-$68,536 annually
- For each additional family member, add $6,994 annually
Building Blocks Ministries, established in 2006, provides a day training program and transportation services for adults with developmental disabilities. The organization is a Florida Medicaid Waiver Provider and also accepts private payments. The nonprofit’s mission is to empower adults with developmental disabilities through training designed to support individual achievements.
