CEO Marie Bogdonoff & Vice President Kathryn Wilgus

Villagers for Veterans

Since founding Villagers for Veterans in 2015, CEO Marie Bogdonoff has raised over $3.5 million to support critically injured and underserved veterans. A 100% volunteer-led nonprofit, the organization funds mobility equipment, service dog training, emergency grants and now transitional housing for women veterans. “After visiting Walter Reed, I knew I had to do something bigger to make a difference,” Marie says.

One of their most impactful efforts is Ashley’s House, a safe haven built for women veterans who often face trauma, homelessness and lack of services. Vice President Kathryn Wilgus, a combat veteran herself, leads advocacy for these women. “Our goal is safety, healing and dignity—especially for those who feel forgotten,” says Kathryn.

Through community donations, Villagers for Veterans continues its mission of “making a difference one veteran at a time”—filling gaps where other services fall short and giving every veteran, especially women, the chance to feel seen, supported and empowered.
