We want to send a huge congratulations out to the East Ridge Middle School boys basketball team who were able to win agasint Carver Middle School from Leesburg High School. The win was a huge accomplishment for the Spartans who have now won back to back district championships.

We have to give a huge shoutout to 8th Grader Jayden Denmark who wound up scoring 32 points to help the Spartans to victory. Other members of the team include Denzil Brumfield, Tyler Delacruz, Chanze Hardy, Amari Francois, Kayin Janvier, Hunter Lentz, Jonathan Patino Dorado, Tahj Powery, Kaymen Riley, Lucas Rojas and Joshua Rodriguez.

Coach Belinski took to social media to say “Very proud coach of these boys! Celebrate it! You earned it!” Carver was heading into the game undefeated on the season. Carver put together an incredible effort. Although they came up short, the community was behind them. The Leesburg High School girls basketball team even wore Carver warmup shirts before their game against Lake Wales which they would win to extend their season.

Congratulations to East Ridge Middle School and congratulations on Back-To-Back district championships.
