Eustis Baseball’s Ledger Pleasant A Star On And Off The Field
Ledger Pleasant is entering his senior year at Eustis High School. Pleasant has been a star on and off the field for Eustis High School. With a GPA of 4.57 and batting average last season of .373 who wouldn’t take a chance on this kid?
Pleasant was one of Lake County Florida’s most improved players from 2022 to 2023. During this time he went from hitting a .211 average up to .373 within a year. Pleasant led the team in hits with 31 and was tied with fellow senior player Julien Radcliffe with 16 runs scored. He was second on the team in 2023 with RBIs and had an incredible “OBP” On base percentage of .429 which means that he was finding his way on base nearly half the time he was batting!
Pleasant plays shortstop and has had an amazing summer. He took part in multiple tournaments, showcases and baseball camps at Vanderbilt, FSU, UCF, FIU, Rollins College, Coastal Carolina, Stetson, and took part in the West Palm at the 2023 Prospect Select Work Invite Tournament. It’s no wonder this kid was voted Eustis Baseball MVP in 2023.
Pleasant is looking forward to the 2024 season. While he continues to fine tune his batting skills along with his play in the field, it’s his work off the field that has been making a large impact in the community.
Ledger Pleasant volunteers when he is not playing baseball. This summer he helped his father Courtney Pleasant cooking for Teacher Appreciation week at Leesburg Elementary School where his mother works. He also helps volunteer at The Big House in Tavares, Florida which is a recreation center. Pleasent has been involved working with former MLB player Chet Lemons as well.
Pleasant also loves helping young players learn about the game. He helps coach Tony Thomas and Dave Westgate with younger players in the community. They teach these young kids how to get in a proper batting stance, hit, throw, steal and anything else you can think of. Pleasant also enjoys hunting, boating and spending time with family and friends when he is not playing baseball.
But those that have watched Ledger Pleasant know that he is destined for greatness. He has plans to go after his bachelor of arts degree in the field of business or civil engineering. This kid knows has some great aspirations and we are so excited to see what he decides to do.
More than anything else, we know that Ledger has a multitude of schools that are currently scouting him at the D1, D2 and D3 NCAA levels of play. Thomas Kupec the Eustis Athletic Director has said “Ledger is just a baller, he’s a kid that shows up to school, gets his work done, is involved in the community with volunteer efforts and is a huge asset to Eustis High School on and off the field.”
You can learn more about Ledger in a recent episode of The Sports hub that he was on in the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qsylzl9tE-I
We wish Ledger Pleasant the best of luck as he approaches the 2024 season! We expect to see great things out of him this year! Go Ledger!
