Eustis High School’s Ja’Niyah Chambliss Named Queen of Cotillion 2024

Ja’Niyah Chambliss of Eustis High School has been named the Queen of Cotillion for 2024. The Annual Silhouettes Criterions 25th Annual Debutant Ball was a huge success.

The Silhouettes of Criterion, a distinguished civic club dedicated to empowering young women to achieve their educational aspirations, celebrated the 25th Annual Cotillion Ball.

The Debutante Court comprised Breniya Shaw, a student from Tavares High School; Amiyah Copeland, representing Mount Dora High; Alana Seward and Janiyah Chambliss, both hailing from Eustis High School.

Debutante Ja’Niyah Monique Chambliss is an 18-year-old senior at Eustis High School. She is the daughter of the late Jamar Chambliss Sr. and Candice Chambliss. Ja’Niyah is an EARLY graduating senior at Eustis High School, where she maintains a 3.3 GPA. She has excelled both academically and in extracurricular activities all three of her high school years.

While working as an entrepreneur hair braider and as a Recreation Aide with the City of Eustis Recreation Department, Ja’Niyah is also a member of the Eustis High School Track and Field team, specializing in shot put and discus. She is a former Eustis High School JV Cheerleader, where she was voted Most Spirited and Most Outstanding Cheerleader, and a current member of the Varsity Cheer Squad and Competition Squad.

Ja’Niyah is a member of Black Student Union, Studio 126 TV Production, and AVID. Ja’Niyah was elected Freshman Class President her 9th-grade year. Ja’Niyah loves working in her church and in the community. She regularly participates as the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church of Eustis, Inc. Youth Department president, Youth Usher, Daughters of Zion Dance Ministry Charter Member, Bethel Baptist Association of Florida, Inc delegate, and Florida General Baptist Congress of Christian Education, Inc delegate.

In the community, she participates in the Silhouettes of Criterion Classic Collection, B.A.G.G.S. (Building and Grooming Girls 4 Success), Abracadabra Foundation, Assistant Coach for the Eustis Junior Panthers Cheerleaders, and volunteers at the Haven of Lake & Sumter Counties, Inc.

After graduation, Ja’Niyah desires to attend Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina and pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Mass Communication and Media Studies or Journalism. She also desires to be a WSSU Cheerleader. Ja’Niyah’s career aspiration is to have a professional broadcast career and work for a local television station.

Eustis High also had Alana Seward be awarded with the Miss Congeniality of the 2024 Silhouette Cotillion Ball. Alana Seward is a senior at Eustis High School and was also a star on the Eustis High School basketball team. She will continue her academic and athletic career at Husson University in Maine.

Congratulations ? Debutante Breniya Shawon winning the Gessner Harris Community Service Award. Congratulations to all of these amazing young ladies. We wish them the best of luck with their future endeavors.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.

For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.

Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
