HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. — Eustis High School’s boys’ golf season came to a picturesque conclusion on Saturday, as senior Luke Van Dyke capped off an impressive campaign with a solid showing at the FHSAA State Finals.

Competing at the historic “El Campeón” course at Mission Inn Resort & Club over two days of ideal golfing conditions, Van Dyke became the first Eustis golfer to reach the State Finals since Justin Rickerson in 2017. Van Dyke carded an 80 on Friday and followed it up with an 81 on Saturday, finishing 39th overall in a highly competitive field of nearly 100 of Florida’s top high school golfers.

Van Dyke’s performance, was fantastic and we are very proud of his accomplishments this season which included a District Championship Runner-Up finish and a strong performance at Regionals in order to make the FHSAA State Finals. He represented Lake County well and we are so proud of him.

Winning the overall competition was Sohan Patel a sophomore from American Heritage in (Broward) who won with an impressive 134 shooting a 68 on the first day and a 66 on the second day. Fleming Island would win the team competition in boys Class 2A.

Congratulations to Luke Van Dyke on an outstanding achievement! We wish him the best of luck with the rest of his senior year.
