Eustis Police Chief Craig Capri was gearing up Monday morning to join the 28th Annual Florida Tour de Force charity bicycle ride, set to begin today in North Miami Beach. The event will culminate in Daytona Beach Shores, on Friday, April 12.

The Florida Tour de Force is a 5-day, 270+ mile ride, featuring an average daily distance of approximately 50-55 miles at a moderate pace of 15-17 mph. The route traverses through 8 counties and encompasses over 40 law enforcement jurisdictions.

This fully supported ride has police escorts provided by the Florida Highway Patrol, Sheriff’s Departments, and local Law Enforcement Agencies, ensuring a safe journey for all participants. Emphasizing awareness rather than competition, the Tour offers scheduled breaks every 12-15 miles, accommodating both novice riders and seasoned cyclists alike.

Chief Capri joins hundreds of law enforcement personnel and civilians from across the state, country, and beyond who participate in this noble endeavor annually. Over 100 riders complete the entire 270+ mile trek each year, demonstrating their dedication to supporting the families of Florida’s Fallen Heroes.

Organized and manned by devoted volunteers from the Law Enforcement community, the Florida Tour de Force raises funds exclusively for the families of Florida’s Fallen Heroes, exemplifying the camaraderie and compassion within the law enforcement fraternity.

“Representing the city of Eustis Police Department on this ride to honor those who made sacrifice.,” Chief Capri said on his Facebook page Monday morning.

We wish you the best and be safe out there!
