The Eustis Police Department has been reaccredited by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) with a 100% compliance rating.

In August 2025, the Eustis Police Department participated in a voluntary process to maintain accreditation through the CFA. The process involves inviting a team of accessors every three years to ensure that the organization is following best practice parameters. Eustis PD has been accredited with the CFA since 2016.

The team evaluated the Eustis Police Department on details such as facilities, training, personnel and records. Eustis PD was found to be in compliance with all 193 Mandatory and Other-Than-Mandatory Standards.

“Obtaining 100% compliance in the reaccreditation process is a testament to the professionalism, dedication and integrity of our entire department. It reflects our ongoing commitment to upholding the highest standards in law enforcement and serving our community with transparency and accountability,” said Eustis Police Chief Craig Capri.

The CFA gave the Eustis Police Department a report that outlined that the assessors were impressed that our Mayor, City Manager and City Commissioners took a front-row seat to be present and available for this reaccreditation visit and ancillary questions.

“This reaccreditation is a testament to the Eustis Police Department’s unwavering commitment to excellence. This achievement assures our community that safety remains a top priority,” said Eustis Mayor Willie Hawkins.

Chief Capri will attend the CFA’s Accreditation Conference in Oct. 2025 to proudly accept the reaccreditation certification.

Approximately one-half of the law enforcement agencies in Florida are accredited through this system. Topics such as finance, quartermaster, support staff, patrol processes, investigative practices, officer safety designs, fair and impartial policing methods, property and evidence management and traffic control are just a few of the professional platforms covered by an accrediting body.
