Eustis’s Running Back Tymir Gaines Transfers to Mount Dora High
Why will Tymir Gaines be one of the best running backs not just in Lake & Sumter County but all of Central Florida in 2024? It’s simple, Gaines is not afraid and plays every down with 110% effort. For 2024 he will play with Mount Dora High.
When you watch film or see him run in person, you understand why Gaines is such an exciting prospect for college scouts. Gaines is one of the most talented running backs due to his ability to read blocks and his speed to produce long average runs.
His football IQ is one of the best in the area. When it comes to reading defenses, Gaines just has a natural ability to do it. He finished last season with 934 yards rushing and eight touchdowns. That was only as a sophomore.
Now coming into his junior season, Gaines is perhaps one of the most exciting young prospects in all of Central Florida. The prospect of seeing Gaines play with Jake Sepe who is the quarterback for Mount Dora High will also be very exciting.
But it’s not just his on-field work. Gaines is a model student with a 3.5 GPA. He’s already getting offers from colleges too that see his athletic and academic ability. Current offers include Arkansas Baptist and Florida Central Tech. Those offers will only continue to rise in the coming years.
It’s hard to fathom but Gaines is just coming off his sophomore year. He doesn’t run like a sophomore. He has the speed, senior athletes only dream about. With a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash, Gaines is also putting the work in this off-season. He bench presses 250lbs and is inching closer to putting up 300 pounds in the future.
There’s just so much here to like about Tymir Gaines from the athletic side and the academic side. He will be one of the top talents to keep your eyes on through the summer and headed into an exciting junior year come August.”
