Former Leesburg Marina Demolished to Make Way for New Facility

Last week, Venetian Cove Marina in Leesburg was demolished to make room for its new facility. This is the next phase of the complete project, which broke ground last August.

The new facility is scheduled to be completed this August, and will feature two offices, a reception area, restrooms and covered outdoor seating, providing a comfortable and functional space for boaters and visitors alike.

Funding for the $1.1 million project comes through a legislative priority grant and contributions from the city. The marina design was developed by Edgewater Group and construction will be carried out by GSB Construction & Development Inc. of Leesburg.

This new facility will enable the city to maintain its high standards of service for marina customers. During construction, a temporary marina office will be located on site. Operations will continue as normal and staff anticipates minimal impact to the public.
“The demolition of the facility is an important milestone for the project and marks the next step in bringing the new facility to life,” Travis Rima-Leesburg Parks and Rec Department says. “We are excited to see construction begin and to watch the new facility take shape. This new facility will be a tremendous amenity for the community for years to come.”
