For 119 years, the City of Eustis has displayed patriotic spirit with its popular GeorgeFest celebration, which today attracts thousands of visitors. Longevity-wise, Georgefest is the second oldest Washington celebration — by a meager four years — only to Laredo, Texas, which began celebrating the first president’s birthday in 1898. GeorgeFest is also the longest-running festival of any kind in Florida.
