Habitat for Humanity Lake-Sumter Florida Breaks Ground on New Home in Bushnell

Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter Florida held a groundbreaking ceremony in Bushnell, marking the beginning of construction on a new home in partnership with Citizens First Bank and The Villages Charter School Construction Academy.
The collaborative effort continues a growing tradition between the three organizations, aiming to provide affordable housing while offering hands-on learning experiences for local students. The project brings together community volunteers, banking professionals, and student builders to create lasting impact through service and education.
Over the course of the next few months, students will work on getting the walls, roof and interior installed. This collaboration teaches the next generation of young men and women the trade of construction. It’s been a great partnership leading to graduates finding work in the construction industry and beyond.

This marks another step forward in an ongoing initiative that has supported families across the region and strengthened community ties. This is an amazing partnership and each year it continues to have a tremendous impact on families in our area.
We wish everyone a successful year and we look forward to seeing the finished project later this year!
