LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — Congratulations to Detective Kurt Niemann on his recent retirement! Kurt joined the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in 1999, starting his distinguished career in Uniform Patrol as a road deputy. After nine years of dedicated service, he transferred to the Agriculture/Marine Unit in 2008, where he worked for over a decade.

In 2021, Kurt returned to Uniform Patrol before transitioning to the Criminal Investigations Bureau as a detective in 2022. Throughout his career, Kurt was an integral part of several specialty units, including the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) and the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT).

Kurt’s commitment to serving the community extended beyond his regular duties. He was deployed to multiple local hurricane incidents, including Hurricane Michael in Panama City and Hurricane Idalia in Naples. Additionally, he contributed to the construction of the Hickory Point pole barn project.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Lake County will miss Kurt’s dedication and service. We thank him for his 25 years of unwavering commitment and wish him a happy and fulfilling retirement. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement, Kurt!
