Jackson Hughes, who had a record-breaking year for Lake Minneola, signed his commitment letter to play for Keiser University in the fall of 2024. Jackson announced on his social media page, “Thank you, Lake Minneola, and the coaches for everything you guys have done for me,” Hughes said.

Hughes had one of the best years that a Lake Minneola quarterback has ever had. He was ranked as the top six quarterbacks in the state of Florida. He threw for over 3,700 yards, 36 touchdowns, and ran a QB-centric offense. Hughes put up massive numbers against Lakeland, Vanguard, and Mainland, who are all very good programs.

Hughes led Lake Minneola to a district championship in 2023. He also led the Hawks to a regional championship where the Hawks competed with Lakeland. Hughes took care of the football, only throwing 6 interceptions this season. He was 10-4 as a starter and named as a 1st Team All-District.

(Hughes broke the Lake Minneola Hawks school record for yards and touchdowns thrown in 2023.)

Keiser University plays in the NAIA. They are based out of West Palm Beach, Florida. We look forward to what Hughes does in 2024. Congratulations to Jackson Hughes, his family, coaches, and friends!
