Lake Minneola Senior Ethan Isom Commits To University of Montevallo For Track & Field
MINNEOLA, FL – Ethan Isom, a senior at Lake Minneola High School, has committed to continue his impressive Track & Field career at the University of Montevallo, an NCAA Division II school located in Montevallo, Alabama. Isom, a versatile athlete known for his skills in triple jump, long jump, and high jump, made the announcement with excitement and gratitude, signaling the start of a new chapter in his athletic journey.

Isom’s track record speaks for itself. Last year, he qualified for the FHSAA State Championships in both the Triple Jump and the 4×400 relay. This year, however, Isom shifted his focus to jumping events, and the results have been nothing short of impressive. Throughout the 2025 season, he has consistently placed in the top five at various meets.
One of his standout performances came at the Mount Dora Christian Invitational, where Isom took first place in the Long Jump with an impressive 6.33-meter leap. His success continued at the 2025 Hawks on the Hill Invitational, where he finished fourth in both the High Jump and Triple Jump. In the High Jump, he cleared 6’2”, while his Triple Jump measured 12.30 meters (approximately 40 feet, 4.25 inches)—both strong performances that secured his fourth-place finishes.

Reflecting on his commitment, Isom shared his enthusiasm: “Headed to the Bricks. Thank you to the University of Montevallo and the rest of the Falcon family for bringing me in. I am excited about this next chapter and can’t wait to get started. Let’s go Falcons!”
Isom’s athletic talents extend beyond the track. A three-sport athlete at Lake Minneola High, he also shined on the football field and basketball court. As Ethan prepares to join the University of Montevallo, the Falcon family is gaining a fine young man looking to make his mark. We want to congratulate Ethan Isom, his family and everyone who has helped him get to this point! Go Ethan!
Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
