Leesburg Blue Foundation Hosts 5K Run/Walk at Leesburg International Airport

The Leesburg Blue Foundation will be hosting the second annual 5K Run/Walk, to be held on Saturday, September 21 at 8:00 AM at the Leesburg International Airport. This unique event, presented by Sunair Aviation, offers participants the rare opportunity to run, walk, or jog on the airport’s runways.

Event Details
Participants will experience a chip-timed 5K race, allowing runners to enjoy the thrill of racing on an airport runway. The race will start and finish at the taxiway intersection Alpha 4, with the event kicking off at 8:00 AM. Race day registration and packet pick-up will open at 7:00 AM at the airport, located at 8807 Airport Blvd. in.Leesburg.
All registered participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and finisher medal. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Leesburg Blue Foundation, Inc., which supports local law enforcement and community initiatives.

- Now – September 1st: $35.00
- September 1st – September 20th: $45.00
- Race Day (September 21st): $55.00

Packet Pick-Up
A pre-race packet pick-up will be held on Friday, September 20th, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Leesburg Police Station, located at 115 East Magnolia St. in Leesburg. Participants can also pick up packets for family members or friends. For those unable to attend the pre-race pick-up, race day registration and packet pick-up will be available starting at 7:00 AM at the airport.

Cindy also serves as a producer for Beacon College’s Telly Award-winning PBS show, “A World of Difference.” When she isn’t working, Cindy enjoys traveling to national parks with her husband, Ryan, and son, David, while photographing wildlife — especially squirrels.
