Leesburg High Welcomes Frank Scott as New Head Football Coach
LEESBURG, Fla. (AP) — In a bid to build on the remarkable success of the 2023 football season, Leesburg High School proudly announces Coach Frank Scott as the new head football coach, succeeding the accomplished Coach Steven Moffett.
Moffett’s leadership propelled the Leesburg Yellow Jackets to an extraordinary season in 2023, marked by a resurgence that left the community in awe. Acknowledging Moffett’s contributions, Leesburg High School expresses gratitude for his time with the program.
Coach Scott, formerly at Eustis High School, brings a wealth of experience and success to the Yellow Jackets. His recent tenure at Eustis included clinching two district championships in consecutive years and multiple playoff appearances. With Eustis now entrusted to Coach Barnett, an alumni and former UCF player, Coach Scott takes charge of the Leesburg program with a commitment to building upon the previous season’s triumphs.
The Yellow Jackets are enthusiastic about Coach Scott’s arrival, recognizing his decorated coaching career in Lake County and his reputation as a leader of men. Beyond the gridiron, Coach Scott is expected to continue fostering the tight-knit “Jacket Family” spirit on and off the field.
Having demonstrated the ability to rejuvenate and elevate football programs, Coach Scott’s appointment is viewed as a significant move for Leesburg High School. Anticipation runs high as the community eagerly looks forward to the 2024 football season under Coach Scott’s guidance.
