Leesburg Oak Park Middle School Getting New Modular Unit

Driving by Oak Park Middle School, you can see new modular units being brought in. According to Lake County School’s Kelly Randall, these new modulars will be put together to form a new classroom. The school has a popular class that currently needs more space. To accommodate this need, a new modular unit will be installed in the grass area in front of the school.

(One of the new modular units that have shown up on the Oak Park Middle School campus in recent days. This will be combined with the one behind it to make a new classroom.)

Oak Park Middle School has continued to see a rise in student population in recent years, which has necessitated the modular units that now surround the main campus building. These modular units have allowed the school to continue normal operations while increasing the size of the student body.

(The new modular sits next to existing modulars on the campus. These modular units have expanded over time to fit the expanding student body.)

Also according Randall, while plans are not solidified yet, there could be some developments in the coming years to help the situation at both Leesburg Elementary and Oak Park Middle School. Although those plans are in early phases, nothing concrete has been announced at this time.

The new modular unit should be ready for the start of the 2024 school year.
