MDCA Athletes Secure College Futures with College Baseball Signings

In a celebratory event, Mount Dora Christian Academy’s standout baseball players, Cael Reish and Easton Workman, inked their college letters of intent, marking a significant milestone in their athletic and academic journeys.

Cael Reish, a former Montverde Academy player, demonstrated prowess on the field during the 2023 season with an impressive .340 batting average in 19 games. With 16 hits, 8 RBIs, and 16 runs scored, Reish’s stellar performance caught the attention of Flagler College, where he has committed to continuing his baseball career. Notably, Reish showcased his speed with a total of 3 stolen bases, further solidifying his reputation as a standout athlete, particularly in the realm of travel baseball.

On the other hand, Easton Workman wrapped up an outstanding junior year in 2023, concluding the season with a fantastic .338 batting average. Workman’s all-around skills were on full display with 27 hits, 21 runs scored, and 15 RBIs. Recognizing his talent, Lander University became the next destination for Workman, as he eagerly signed his letter of commitment.

Looking ahead to the upcoming 2024 baseball season, both Reish and Workman are poised to leave an indelible mark on the field. The Mount Dora Christian Academy community and Lake & Sumter County extends heartfelt congratulations to these two athletes on their significant commitments and eagerly anticipates witnessing their stellar performances in their final year at the academy.

Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.

For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.

Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
