Minneola Couple Transforms Vacant Property into 18-Hole Family Entertainment Venue

Minneola Mini Golf officially opened in October 2025, and for Leo and Sharon, it’s a family project brought back to life.
The husband-and-wife team owns and operates the 18-hole, tropical-themed course, which also features complimentary lawn games like cornhole and disc golf, plus indoor favorites including pool, air hockey, foosball and ping pong. Arcade games are being added as they continue expanding the fun.

Before stepping into the world of mini golf, Sharon managed multiple real estate properties in Georgia, while Leo taught seventh-grade science at East Ridge Middle School. The couple and parents of four say their children, two of whom now help run the business, inspired them to create an affordable entertainment option for local families.
The idea took root during COVID, when they launched an e-commerce business that quickly outgrew their home. Searching for commercial space, they stumbled upon a long-vacant building. Behind it, buried under years of overgrowth, was a hidden gem.

“The entire mini golf course was basically a forest,” they say. “But we saw the potential right away.”
They purchased the property in early 2022 and began the long process of restoration. Major updates included bringing the building up to code, installing a new sidewalk connecting to U.S. Highway 27 and resurfacing the parking lot. Much of the work — from pulling weeds to planting and painting — was done by hand.

“We are extremely grateful for the positive feedback and support from our community,” Leo and Sharon say. “Even though we started this project intending it to be a retail space, we’ve shifted our focus to being a family entertainment venue.”
Affordability remains central to their mission. Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for children, with discounts available for military members, first responders and teachers, along with family packages.

Because Leo continues teaching, hours follow the Lake County Schools calendar. The course is open Wednesday and Friday evenings, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m., with extended hours during school holidays.
