Montverde Academy’s Leila Susaia Commits To Queens University for Softball
MONTVERDE, Fla. — Leila Susaia, a standout softball player for Montverde Academy, has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic career at Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina which plays in the ASUN which is an NCAA Division 1 Conference.
“I am excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and softball career at Queens University!” Susaia shared on social media. “Thank you to my family, coaches, and friends that have supported me on this journey.”
Susaia, who played a pivotal role in Montverde Academy’s first-ever state championship win in May, returns for her senior season after an impressive junior campaign. Last year, she batted a stellar .402, collecting 35 hits, 32 RBIs, and scoring 25 runs, while also contributing two doubles. Her on-base percentage climbed significantly from .337 as a freshman to .438 last season, showcasing her growth and consistency at the plate.
Montverde Academy’s recent success is due in large part to Susaia’s contributions, and as she enters her final year, she hopes to lead her team to repeat their state title. We are so happy for Leila and her family. Congratulations.
